Boat-Friendly Foods and Recipes

You and your crew are bound to get hungry during a long excursion on the water. When it comes to on-board meals, it’s best to keep things light. No one wants to get anchored down by heavy or spicy food far out on the lake. The following meals are tasty, perfect-for-summer options that will get you through the day in the most enjoyable way.

Rice or Pasta Salad: This combination of veggies and carbs is unmatched in creativity and practicality and a staple for any hot day. Rice or pasta salad will keep in a cooler or refrigerator for up to four days.

Grilled Chicken or Fish: If you have an electric grill on board, why not put it to use? Pack some chicken—or catch some fish—and add your favorite seasonings and sauces for a tasty midday meal.

Grilled Veggies and Kebabs: Perfect as a side dish or even a quick main course, grilled veggies are a fast and healthy way to give yourself a boost. Grab some aluminum foil or a grill sheet, olive oil, seasonings, and your favorite veggies and protein to grill up a great meal in no time.

Oatmeal: On top of having a great name when served on the water, oatmeal is an incredibly easy and fast meal to make. If you have an on-board microwave or grill, just heat up water, add the oatmeal, and mix in some dried fruits and nuts.

Tuxedo Soup: Tuxedo soup is loaded with white and black beans to deliver a good amount of protein, especially if you add chicken to the dish. Additional veggies and spices add unique flavors to an easy meal.

Baked Ziti: Baked ziti is a lasagna that’s easy to eat on the go. This carb-based dish will energize every passenger and leave them completely satisfied. It’s easy to overindulge, so try packing it in small bowls.
