Consider Boating on Mother’s Day! Mother’s Day is great boating holiday. As the water heats up and the weather mellows, we’re all more than ready to get out on the water. And who better to enjoy it with than the best mom in the world. Or, if you are that mom, get your boat out on the water as fast as you can—because this day belongs to you. There are lots of ways to celebrate a boat-themed Mother’s Day to remember.
The Perfect Gift
There’s plenty of storage space on your Crownline to stash a gift or two to show mom how much you care. Surprise her with a new pair of Costa sunglasses or some Sperry boat shoes. Both companies put out some truly awesome products in 2018. We recommend Costa’s Loreto line. Few marine sunglasses flawlessly combine modern and traditional style, but the Loreto really delivers. As far as Sperry goes, classic or contemporary, it’s hard to make a bad choice. They have a cool new chambray boat shoe that adds something new to the traditional Sperry look. A Tasty Meal
Another way to treat mom to something special is to cook up a delish onboard meal. Brunch on a boat is the best way to launch the day. We scoured cookbooks, cooking blogs and Pinterest for the best boat-friendly recipes, and the winner is: fish or shrimp tacos! Here’s a particularly tasty shrimp taco recipe from The Boat Galley. Light and delicious fish tacos can be cooked up on land or your onboard grill. They’ll fill you up without making you want to take a nap 20 minutes after eating. And they pair well with mom’s beverage of choice. A Sauvignon blanc, pale ale, mojito or mimosa makes the fish taste even better, so the day can get off to a wonderful start.
Boating the Day Away
After brunch, there are a limitless number of ways to spend Mother’s Day on the water. From relaxed cabin lounging to high-octane watersports, you can dial up or down the action level depending on your mood—and your mom. In the evening, swing by your favorite waterside restaurant or have a meal at the dock. Whether it’s the whole family or just you and mom, it’s the perfect way to show your love and appreciation and wrap up a memorable celebration. See other fun boat activities here.
